Coronavirus: Hanse Sail 2020 postponed to 2021 – Due to the current corona pandemic, the Hanse Sail in Rostock and Warnemünde cannot take place in 2020.

Many had already expected it in advance and now it is official: The Hanse Sail, the largest maritime festival in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, has been canceled for 2020. Rostock’s Mayor and the Director of Tourism announced the cancellation of the Hanse Sail 2020 yesterday. The Hanse Sail was actually scheduled for the second weekend in August 2020. However, due to COVID-19, this date cannot take place in the usual format of the Hanse Sail this year.

Unlike the Kiel Week, there will be no Hanse Sail this year. The Kiel Week, on the other hand, which takes place annually in June, has been postponed by a few months. Instead of the usual end of June, theKiel Week 2020 will take place at the beginning of September.

Rostock, however, has decided to completely cancel the major maritime event. In addition, it is the 30th Hanse Sail and this anniversary should of course also be celebrated accordingly. As with the 29 previous events, the 30th birthday of the Hanse Sail should be an unforgettable event for guests from all over the world.

New date for the 30th Hanse Sail: 08/05/2021 to 08/08/2021

The Hanse Sail in Rostock and Warnemünde takes place annually on the second weekend in August from Thursday to Sunday.
