Project Cosmos: 114 meter mega yacht arrived in Kiel after being launched Transfer of the 114 meter Lürssen yacht from Rendsburg to Kiel through the Kiel Canal and the Kiel Fjord on March 9th, 2023.

Lürssen Yachts is known worldwide for building spectacular superlative mega yachts. This has been the case in recent years and in March 2023 you can again glimpse a future mega yacht for a brief moment in Schleswig-Holstein. We’re talking about Project Cosmos. This Lürssen yacht is 114 meters long and 18 meters wide.

The mega yacht “Project Cosmos” was here on March 9th, 2023 in the Kiel Canal and in the Kiel Fjord on its way from the Lürssen shipyard in Rendsburg to the TKMS shipyard in Kiel. The megayacht Project Cosmos was launched the day before on March 8th, 2023 at the Kröger shipyard, part of the Lürssen Group. The mega yacht Project Cosmos was towed by two tugs to the shipyard in Kiel for further completion. The mega yacht, which has so far only been called Project Cosmos, is expected to be completed in 2025. The yacht may be owned by a billionaire from Japan. The estimated construction costs will ultimately amount to at least 300 million euros.

To the Project Cosmos picture gallery with numerous photos of the yacht!

When the shell of the yacht was towed through the Kiel Canal to the TKMS shipyard in Kiel on Friday, there were understandably numerous spectators on the banks of the canal and on the lock viewing platform in Kiel-Wik. Because even if more than 50 ships cross the Kiel Canal every day: You don’t see a mega yacht like this every day. There may be another opportunity in 2025 when the yacht will be on its way to trials and test drives in the Kiel Fjord and the Baltic Sea.
