It’s the port’s birthday in Hamburg again and that means lots of ships in the port of Hamburg, especially at the jetties. The sea rescue cruiser Hermann Marwede, built in 2003, was also shipping on the Elbe. The proud 46 meter long Hermann Marwede is the largest sea rescue cruiser (SK) for the North Sea and the only one of the 46 meter class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked Persons (DGzRS). Hermann Marwede is considered the largest sea rescue cruiser in the world and is moored at the German Bight/Heligoland sea rescue station with the German Bight sea position.
