Rare sight in the Kiel Canal on Friday afternoon, because here is a large submarine in the canal with a German flag. But the naval ship is not a submarine of the German Navy. Here, the Singapore Navy’s submarine RSS Impeccable, which is around 70 meters long, is on its way in the Kiel Canal, the Kiel-Holtenau canal lock and in the Kiel Fjord on its way from Rendsburg back to the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) shipyard in Kiel the east bank of the Kiel Fjord.<\/p>\n

TKMS has built the submarine Impeccable, now temporarily named TKMS Submarine 02, for the Singapore Navy (RSN). The launch took place a few months earlier on December 13, 2022 at ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) in Kiel. With a length of around 70 meters, this submarine is one of the largest submarines built in Germany. Numerous test drives have already been completed and it will probably not be too long before the RSS Impeccable is handed over to the Singapore Navy.
