The frigate Hamburg is one of a total of three class 124 frigates (also known as the Sachsen class). The frigate is 143 meters long, 17 meters wide and was commissioned on December 13, 2004. The frigate Hamburg was built by HDW in Kiel from 2000 to 2004 and belongs to the 2nd frigate squadron of the German Navy’s second flotilla in Wilhelmshaven.<\/p>\n

As part of the Kiel Week Open Ship at the Kiel-Wik naval base, the frigate Hamburg was a guest in Kiel in September 2021.<\/p>\n
